FALL TACKLE FOOTBALL

At Lago Vista Youth Football and Cheer Association, we pride ourselves on our football and cheer participants being ONE TEAM. The foundation we set at LVYFA is to create a culture that is an integral part of our community, including being supportive of and involved in not only our own organization's activities but other community events and organizations.

Effective 2024 - we will now be offering Flag Football!

Who can play: (by the fall grade of the season)
Flag Football: Divisions 1: Pre-K and Kinder; Division 2: 1st, 2nd grade
Freshman: Kinder, 1st, 2nd grade
JV: 3rd and 4th grades
Varsity: 5th and 6th grades
*Athletes MUST live within the Lago Vista ISD school district boundaries or can obtain a waiver.
Dates: Registration will be open - March 15 - June 30 for football. Don't wait to register! Freshman & JV football teams will be capped at 18 - 24 and additional registrants will be added to a waitlist.
Discounts:
10% siblings discount, after the first child is fully signed up.
Cost:
Early bird Registration on a payment plan must be paid by June 1st for discount.
2024 Flag Football Season registration cost is $135
2024 Season registration cost is $240.

Flag Football Division
HCYFL Flag Football Division was created to provide an introductory to the game of football for the younger kids. This allows them to learn the fundamentals of the game without the full tackle experience. The kids will be practicing at the same location as our tackle division to allow them to see what all is entailed with tackle football. We are excited to offer this new division to our league!
Our Flag Football Division is constructed as follows:

Saturday Morning Games played at Home Fields

1st hour of every game day dedicated to flag football

Freshman Division
HCYFL Freshman Division was created to provide a suitable tackle venue for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders that is a viable alternative to flag football.
Our Freshman Division is constructed as follows:

8 MAN FOOTBALL

FIELD IS 80 YARDS X 40 YARDS

NO SPECIAL TEAMS (NO KICKOFF/RETURN, PUNT/RETURN)

UNLIMITED WEIGHT, HOWEVER, 75 lbs. MAX ON BALL CARRIERS.
Freshman football includes all players grades K-2nd. This is a modified level where only eight players per team are on a modified 80 x 40-yard field with their coaches, so the focus is on learning the basics of offense and defense. Freshman football does not have (kicking/punting) special teams. The weight limit in this division for ball runners is 75 pounds maximum.
Our freshman teams compete in playoffs and league championship just like our 11-man JV and Varsity teams.

Junior Varsity Division
"JV" Division
Our JV Division is constructed as follows:

REGULATION 100 YARD FIELD

FULL SPECIAL TEAMS, HOWEVER, NO RUSHING THE KICKER/PUNTER

UNLIMITED WEIGHT TO PLAY, HOWEVER, 100 lbs. MAX ON BALL CARRIERS
The Junior Varsity division is for 3rd and 4th graders and focuses on transitioning the teams to a full-sized field with modified UIL rules. The weight limit in this division for ball carriers is 100 pounds maximum.
Our JV Division have bowl games, playoffs, and league championships.

Our Varsity Division is constructed as follows:

FULL UIL RULES ON OFFENSE

FULL UIL RULES ON DEFENSE
UNLIMITED WEIGHT TO PLAY, HOWEVER, 125 lbs. MAX ON BALL CARRIERS
Varsity teams are typically made up of a 5th-grade team and a 6th-grade team. In order to prepare the players for middle school football, this division plays full UIL rules. The only weight limit in this division is for skill position players, which is 125 pounds maximum.
Our Varsity Division have bowl games, play offs and league championships.
